Hello muvizu people. i have come across an annoying error message in the new update.
while using objects that i have in my favourites that use textures to dress a set. when you first use them they appear as they were saved complete with textures.

eg.1

if i save that set with the object in and then reload that set at a later date, i get this message.

eg.2

and also lose the ability to add textures to that object

eg.3

dunno if you know about this but it can be a bit of a git if you have made a massive set using favourite objects and can no longer use them objects without deleting and importing them again.
it doesnt happen when saving a set with imported objects only ones saved in favourites. just thought id let you know
apart from that im liking the new update.it runs a lot smoother now and the new timeline is much better and the new waveform in the dialogue track make life easier. thanks you

Hmm, I'm having issues recreating this. Dunno if it's because I misunderstand the problem or not, though. Would you be able to check through these steps and see if this would cause the problem for you?:
01) Open Muvizu:Play.
02) Create > Objects > Bar > Arcade Machine.
03) Edit > Edit.
04) In the "Edit" tab, change Arcade Machine's "Screen Image" property to an imported custom texture.
05) In the "Favourites" tab, save the Arcade Machine object with the custom Screen Image as a favourite.
06) Close Muvizu:Play.
07) Re-open Muvizu:Play.
08) Create > Objects > Favourites > select the Arcade Machine with the custom Screen Image that was just saved.
09) "File > Save As" and save the SET with the Arcade Machine with the custom Screen Image selected from Favourites.
10) Close Muvizu:Play again.
11) Open the SET file we just saved in Muvizu:Play.
12) This is where the bug should occur?

At step 12, I'm just getting my SET file opening fine with the Arcade Machine with the custom Screen Image that I had chosen from my Favourites appearing as expected. Am I not following the procedure correctly? If not, could you tell me where I'm going wrong? If this DOES cause the bug for you, could you e-mail a SET file that it has happened in, with the bug saved, to bugs@muvizu.com?

hello lev. it only happens on imported objects that i have saved into favourites. normal muvizu objects are fine.
i'll send you the set where i noticed it but i dunno if it would be any good because ive resaved in the new muvizu and the objects still load up but i cant add textures to them anymore.

ive sent you the set where i first noticed it and the test set i used for the example on this page. hope this helps

Again, I'm getting to the final step here and finding the object displays as expected, with all the custom texture slots intact. I used "ob_gianthamburger.ase" from UrbanLamb's "Hamburger 'n Slushy Shops Junk Food Expansion Pack 1" (http://www.muvizu.com/3D/27193/Hamburger-n-Slushy-Shops-Junk-Food-Expansion-). And also again, if I'm making a mistake in what you mean here, let me know!

This hasn't come through to us yet, but I imagine the attachment will cause it to take a wee while. If you haven't heard that we've got it by Monday afternoon, give me a metaphorical kick up the backside to remind me to double-check the "bugs" e-mail account!

ive sent you the .ase file for the steed hotel front from the example above and also the steed trees from the mansion set
im thinking if you are getting no problems from urbanlambs assets, then this might be a sketchup model problem because urbanlamb uses blender to create her models. i'll have a mess about with some sketchup models from the assets page to see if i does the same with them.


or a .ase exporter thing.i use the older exporter rather than the muvizu one. ive just tried woztoons hummer model and had no problems with it. but i dont know which version of the exporter he uses. i'll try an older model.

after a lot of experimenting with lots of different models from the assets page and my own models some do it and some dont so im flummoxed with whats causing it. so i guess i'll just avoid using my favorites to make sets Big Grin oh well such is life

*cough* I didnt want to point a finger at sketchup but so far I have had no errors on importing and I have seen quite a few set import errors from uk berty and ziggy and now you.. so I think this might be it as sketchup doesn't let you associate things as precisely with the models. Blender you tell muvizu exactly where to find the info for the textures and from my understanding is skethcup sort of makes up the info so no path or anything? But looking at all the errors .. yes this might be the way sketchup is assigning the textures to the materials.

I get no errors at all for importing such things I have imported a ton of my old sets and used quite a few favourites.

also that is a very cute set prop fazz i like the colours and stuff.

Urban, there is actually a path to the texture in Sketchup ASE files. Doesn't mean it always works though

haha very cute indeed Nice set front. I find making the sets very fun i can get carried away .. which is why I end up building an entire world quite often ^^.

hello lovely muvizu people is there any news on my losing textures on favourited object problem?

ive been experimenting and im losing textures on favourited models if i change the texture on that model before it is favourited.
but only my models? models from the assets page are ok. apart from mine

example... both are favourited models. on the left i changed the textures before saving to favourites, on the right no texture change before saving to favourites. dunno if that helps at all. or if you have fixed the problem then just tell me to shut up and get on with some animating instead of messing about with models. Big Grin
