weirdness Yup, the always brilliant Urban Lamb had the answer! Thanks so much. It only took me pretty much all day to split the film into tiny bits but its now working without any weirdness, so a mega big animated thank you - and of course to Fazz and Tangledbliss too who made the frame for my widescreen frame!

thank you xx

weirdness Thanks for that Fazz, I think Urban Lamb's suggestion is working, though I have tried yours before.

Here is the link if you're interested https://vimeo.com/98286939
Though its changed a few times since I put that version up. Password is portfolio2

weirdness Please look at my video here https://vimeo.com/user9743188 (password is required which is portfolio2) and if someone
could tell me how to get rid of the weird background blockiness in the first scene I'd appreciate it. I tried Fazz's earlier suggestion but that didnt help.

I'm exporting from muvizu with xvid and then importing into my Mac, converting to a movie file to use in iMovie - I've given up with premiere pro.

Thank you
Lou

nightmare/part 2 bless you my child.

someone remind me to never make an animation again

nightmare/part 2 I really am going totally loopy with frustration here!
Can someone tell me why the first few seconds of my video start out ok then look weird in about the 3rd second - see here for examples
http://screaminglulu.tumblr.com/

I am making the movie with xvid, sending to AVC to transfer to AVI, bringing it into premiere. It's always worked this way but suddenly, something has changed and I dont know what and I am about to jump off a very high building.... Or at least have my 500th cigarette today.

Thank you hugely

Widescreeb/plasma Thank you - cant quite get it to work though .. I wonder if there are strips of wood that I could assemble to make a frame? I tried to use the monitor and insert the video which worked but the quality of the video was crummy (its not when its on the widescreen wall..)

Widescreeb/plasma I imported a video into a wide screen background which looks fine. Is there any kind of frame I could put round it so that it looks like a plasma screen on the wall, as the plasma screen itself doesn't hang straight.

Thanks

I'm having a nightmare! ukBerty wrote:
If you're using the standard Muvizu assets then I think there's a couple of possibles....

  • Is the prop actually rectangular or is it off ?
  • More likely is good old collision. Turn off floats in the air and keep upright. Let it drop to the floor, this will get it level. Then make sure it's in line with the wall. Then turn floats in the air back on - but NOT keep upright. Raise the picture to where you want it and it won't wobble about because of the collision.

(Just a tip whilst on this subject - I no longer use a lot of backdrops as they have full collision. I have created a "wall" in sketchup (just a rectangle with a little depth) and a texture stretched across it. I then export using my ZiggyMesh exporter. When using this instead of backdrops you don't run into this tedious problem as the collision mesh is very small.)

And thank you too. I will try all these options.

I'm having sooo many other problems with this video now but its too complicated to try and explain!

Duhh (cant even find the sobbing smiley!)

do you have snap to grid turned on? errm i can't remember what menu that is in but turn it off and you should be able to adjust it easily enough.

I'm having a nightmare! I'm still working on my effing video and have a wide screen TV monitor on a wall. I cannot
get the thing to hang straight! Unfortunately it's on a wall with a brick like pattern so the lines make it look more crooked. I've tried rotating it but it won't straighten up. Please help before I go crazy!

I've got to finish this in 10 days for my university exhibition.... Aarrgghh!

Thanks awfully :-)

lip sync .... OK, I have reinstalled Muvizu - and was about to try the dialogue as shown in the link, but I don't have the same dialogue box as shown there (at 3.41) nor in fact do I have the option to start the talking at a timed point (at 1.40 in the link). I dont know how much difference that makes, or if there is a newer version of Muvizu that I need.. ?

lip sync .... OOOooo thanks, once again!
I wonder if I need to reinstall Muvizu re the crashes, plus I don't seem to have all the options available as shown in that very helpful tutorial.

thanks so much

lip sync .... The only way round this ridiculous problem is to make one video with my security guard lip syncing his bit, then join it to a second video with the the character saying the line again. This is a less than 2 minute animation.... all very frustrating and not helped with muvizu crashing frequently and then muvizu joiner crashing too.

grrrr

lip sync .... Thanks Mark, I'll try it in Audacity. The annoying and strange thing is he is only saying two lines. I had them both sync'd and saved the file and then later he only syncs to one of his lines. Is this not a problem with the software maybe rather than what I'm doing?

thank you

lip sync .... Thank you! I will try shushing and talking I have assigned talk to each character but haven't used shushing, so I'll give it a go. Thank you

lip sync .... Here is the first part of an animation, showing the security guard lip syncing on his second attempt but not his first attempt at saying the same thing. The women were also lip syncing successfully at one point, but now dont appear to. Any advice as to what I am doing wrong would be most appreciated

2014/5/23 19:01:38
lip sync .... I've played around with the timeline but its still not right. Only one of his lip syncs work; then there are women's voices and they used to be sync'd and now theyre not. I'll try and upload it to Muvizu later and maybe that might help.

thank you again
