Eh, no, not quite what I meant... In the face mask options, one of them is called Photo Face Mask. When you select that, you get the default photo (GWBush) already on it. To change it, click on it in the properties bit and select your AVI instead. I was in no way intending anyone put Bush anywhere near anything ever

Thanks again. Does it have to be G Dubbya? Can you not project onto the paper bag face mask?
I dont want to see G Dubby's face anywhere, especially in my animation

I just tried it, and realised I should expand a bit - when you use Face Mask, you select Photo face mask, then click on the default photo (G Dubbya Bush) and select your AVI. That should do it - as to which codec of AVI is best, refer to every other forum thread addressing that one...

Thank you Ziggy. I cant seem to load an avi file though - what might I be doing wrong?
And how do I use the spotlight for projecting? (Maybe that's what I'm doing wrong...?)

Cheers!

Facemask - try using a facemask, and load the video onto that. Chuckles used this technique in his mad surrealist vids, I remember, and it looked freaky.

You could use a spotlight for projecting a AVI video onto a blank face. I created this video, on the fly, to illustrate this.

well.. the whole body of a character is one big texture so you can use it to import video but i very much doubt you could do what you want without making some really complex video than only covers the head part of the texture. you could try green screen on the head or use one of the spotlights as a projector. dunno how it would come out though and whether it would be worth the aggro trying to do it. but you never know. experimenting with things is all part of the muvizu experience

Is it possible to import a video onto a characters face or body? Something like this perhaps -

(Or the recent David Bowie video, also created by Tony Oursler?)

Thank you.
