I'm guessing it works basically the same as animating any other object... but the things one is likely to do with text (especially in a credits segment) are unique enough that a specific tutorial would be useful.

And yes, I know that most graphic editors have all kinds of credits effects built-in. But sometimes you want something specific that isn't in a template, so...
