Muvizu when it comes to common decency You may want to double check by contacting Muvizu support, but I'm pretty sure that's the sort of freedom you have with the Play+ licence. http://www.muvizu.com/Support

You may run into trouble if you upload something too gory to this site or YouTube though.

However, Muvizu relies heavily on the GPU of your computer for almost everything (Actually yes this may affect avi imports come to think of it. Do you have the latest GPU drivers for your PC?).

Will the Dell i7559-763BLK work well for Muvizu? Muvizu relies heavily on the GPU (Graphics processing unit) of your PC because it's using the Unreal 3 game engine. Your current laptop doesn't have any dedicated GPU, and instead is using the CPU (processor) for both general processing and graphics processing. It's also sharing the RAM with the rest of your system.
The Dell has a dedicated GPU (one of the best of the second-newest generation) for processing the graphics data (which is what Muvizu's using all the time). It also has 4GB of dedicated video RAM which means it won't cause other programs to crash from the general purpose RAM being used up.
Your current laptop may have a better CPU but Muvizu needs a powerful GPU.

On a related note, a lot of the slowdowns you experience with your current laptop may come from the HDD. A HDD is made from a spinning magnetic disk with a small arm that moves over it to retrieve data. This arm can only move so fast and if your laptop is trying to retrieve a lot of data at a single time then it will stop everything until it can get this data. An SSD is a drive made of chips (rather than a spinning disk) which has no moving parts and can achieve much higher read/write speeds. The Dell laptop with the i5 has a full size SSD (256GB) so everything stored on there (including Windows) should load up very fast. The Dell with the i7 (a better CPU) only has 8GB of SSD space so only your most used programs will load up fast and everything else will load as fast as your current laptop. You're paying extra for the additional 750GB of storage space (albeit slower storage) and the more powerful processor.

I'm going to start by doing exactly what you asked us not to do. You will see a significant benefit if you buy a desktop PC rather than a laptop because the manufacturers don't have to worry about space and power limitations.

Anywho, since you have specifically stated that you want a laptop and nothing else, I'll have to go with it. Both those laptops should perform roughly the same where Muvizu's involved because they both have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GPU. This is not to be confused with the GTX960(not m) when looking for performance comparisons online. I think the cheaper of the two will give you a better user experience because it has a dedicated full size SSD which will make everything load near instantly. You may want to spend the money you saved on an external USB 3.0 drive though because 256GB is going to fill up quickly if you're making videos.
In short, I think that $660 laptop is pretty good value and should be powerful enough for Muvizu.


Out of curiosity, what are the specs of your current laptop?

Crying Go to prepare-->character properties then select the tears and set them to be animated. You can now click "Switch to direct" and choose how and when to animate them as you would with directing actions etc.

Some packs don't require a download, but you need to go to file-->activate to enable then.

Ah that does sound odd. Have you tried clicking the "enter code" button after clicking "upgrade"? You need to copy the code from your email or the "my products" section of your profile before clicking "enter code" because it pulls it directly from your clipboard.

PC suggestions please Something I'd like to add if you read this before you go to Currys:
You will notice a massive improvement on the daily operation of a computer if you buy one with a Solid State Drive (SSD) rather than a standard spinning Hard Disk Drive (HDD) because loading times will be faster when opening programs and files. If they don't have any SSD computers on offer, try to avoid disks with speeds of 5400RPM and below because your computer will feel sluggish when booting up and loading programs. (More so as time goes on)

PC suggestions please Ok so for a fast gaming-spec PC with the latest generation graphics, the lowest cost for the individual parts seems to be £740.
I'll look for pre-builts with the same specs, but most seem to be from the previous generation which would make the lifespan of the PC shorter.
If you want to go with Pat's advice, avoid anything with the letter m after the name of the graphics (EG: GTX950M) because they're built for laptops and are very under-powered.

I'll keep looking for the cheapest option but I think either the prices have gone up in the last few months or I've deluded myself to think the parts are cheaper than they actually are.

sale on Silo 2.3.1 Nahton, those Ts&Cs look ok for putting items on the store for free. I think one main part of the problem with what happened a week ago was that the user didn't give any credit to the original creators, implying everything was their own work.
Others may disagree though, and personally I'd only re-distribute content if I had permission from the original creator.
