Stop my character from sitting? Thank you guys, every single one of you is awesome!

Stop my character from sitting? The idea for a scene is as follows

1. A guy sits on a bench.
2. He walks up to camera while talking.
3. Stands while looking around
4. Cut.

So I set initial state as "sit " and here is my problem, as soon as character stops moving he sits down... sorry for noob question but how to change that?
