All I see is that it's a lot harder to identify your shits as there are so many files.

Really? They are usually just below me when I've finished. Big Grin

I have a RAW folder for every shot with an appropriate name in an appropriate folder so finding them during and removing them after production is no problem.

OK UK here goes....
  • Most of the advice I have read on sites like Lightworks etc. say that you should work with raw frames until the final render.
  • I use Gimp 2.8 with GAP, this loves raw .tga as opposed to video files. It does not have to convert to frames first. Great for making transparent .avi stuff for import.
  • Slow motion or speeded up sequences are easier as there is no timecode in the files.
  • I add my audio after render so it saves me having to delete the audio track in an .avi
  • You don't have to faff around with all these codecs and their associated problems.
  • I don't care what anyone else says I still think the quality is better. ( I may be wrong but that's my perception )
  • Individual frames can be edited.
  • Take every 25th frame and you have a cool slideshow of every second of your movie.
  • See ekholbrook's point about stopping and starting.
  • A ready made repository of screenshots.

I am sure there are more but my brain has a day off on Sundays.

So much potential, so many bugs When you go to render the video, on the file selector, the drop down menu defaults to .avi. You can change it to .tga and it will render as separate frames. You should be able to import this still image sequence into any video editor that's worth using. I often forget to change it and have to restart, it's not that obvious. This enables you to have much more freedom and control in post production.

Otherwise, I can just stick with uncompressed - hasn't done me any harm so far Big Grin

That's what I do, saves all the grief. I use Xvid for quick rushes and .tga for final render.

Muvizu:Play 1.0 timeline discussion Neil wrote:
Me again. I wanted to give you a quick heads-up on where we're at. We're hoping to get a new patch out early next week to fix the load/save errors and to fix the worst of the problems with the timeline.

After this next patch, we'll look at making further changes to the timeline to address some of your other issues.

Tres bon, tres tres bon. C'est magnifique. Bravo!

Rosie and the Costumes packs will only work with Muvizu:Play.

I can't imagine any harm by selecting 'Yes', but as Urban stated, it don't matter that much

I beg to differ. The costumes pack definitely works. Rosie however does not.

saving set error I'm not sure that's a good idea. Have you seen spiders on caffeine?

This is strange, as I have a Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1)(running Android 4.1) with Muvizu on non-desktop mode and it works fine!

PS: I am using the Google chrome app.

I use Android Chrome as well, no problems except for the absent (keep me logged in) box at the top.

That is awesome Woz Well done!

Thanks Mike, I'm not responsible for the original model and it needs a bit of work but now I know it's possible.

Failure to plan is planning to fail! I used to do things more organically, a bit like painting but I am now taking more time over things and it does save a lot of wasted work.

Showing off my chopper Thanks everybody.

When searching the 3D warehouse ( Sketchup) I have found that if you search collections for "low poly" there is some great stuff that Muvizu swallows eagerly with very little trouble and they are easy to edit/modify as well.

Failure to plan is planning to fail! Nice tuts. All the advice says don't commit to production until everything is clearly planned and worked out.

How many of us actually put that into practise?

Nice - would having a higher frame rate in the original avi increase the (apparent) rotation speed, do you think? hmm...

A good idea. These are just some old rotors I had hanging around.

Double click camera window - CRASH I don't know if this helps but I think it may be machine specific. I have not had any of these crashes. If I did you would know.
I don't run Muvizu side by side with anything else and did not install the additional packages ( .NET etc ) when installing.

Hope this helps.
