I have to admit I have no idea why this happened, but hopefully the Devs will be able to figure it out.

One quick question- is it the 32-Bit or 64-Bit version of Vista that you have?

Take care, and I hope your daughter has fun,
-Jim.

thanks again.
I am using the 32bit version.

hope they can figure it out...

best,

Yes, there are many folders in c:\Program Data\ but not muvizu :-(

Tried to run it as an administrator...nothing.

Will now try to re-install it as an administrator.

will let you know what happens.

no characters or objects appear Thanks for your quick reply.
I am on windows vista home
Unfortunately I do not have the folder C:\Program Data\Muvizu

Any advise?

Hi again,

What I would like you to do is please delete the cache of files that Muvizu has downloaded and then run Muvizu again - hopefully that should fix it for you.

The files are called "AnimationData.dat, ApplicationData.dat and CharacterData.dat"

Unfortunately they are located in hidden folders, which you need to edit some Windows options to see:

In Windows 7 and Vista
Go to Start > Computer
Go to the Menu Bar and click on Organise and then Folder and Search Options
Click on the View Tab
Click on the Circle beside Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives
Click Apply

In Windows XP (I had to grab this from Microsoft's website as I do not have an XP computer at home to check)

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options.
Click on the View Tab
Click on the Circle beside Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives
Click Apply

The Folder that you need to access is, again, in different places depending on the Operating System:

In Windows 7 and VIsta:
C:\Program Data\Muvizu

In Windows XP: (I am not 100% sure of the location as I do not have an XP machine - I will be able to post it's exact location tomorrow)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Roaming\Muvizu
It could also be
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Local\Muvizu

So, if you could delete the listed files from those locations and try running Muvizu again it should hopefully get it working for you - if not I please let me know.

Take care,
-Jim.

no characters or objects appear Actually, when I start muvizu, I get that little windows and the 4th line says: downloading remote manifest....DONE.
But still, when muvizu opens there are no characters, no objects etc.

please advise

no characters or objects appear Hi glasgowjim,

I have the same problem. I have installed muvizu about 4 or 5 times now and no luck. Still no characters or objects. When I start the first time after installation it doesn't seem to connect to the internet. No errors reported also.
I am connected to the internet and unblocked muvizu in the firewall. I have also disabled the firewall completely to make sure it is not somehow blocking anything.
Nothing.
Please advise. Me and my daughter are dying to try it out since yesterday.
Please advise.

Regards

PD

I've just installed the software and tried to create a scene. The background etc is fine but the two things I can't create are the characters or objects. They don't appear when the window comes up. what can I do?

Hi Mr Jelly,

The first time that you run Muvizu it needs access to the internet in order to build a list of all the objects and characters, so if it is bein blocked by a firewall or you do not have that PC connected to the internet it won't be able to create a list of characters.

If the PC is connected to the internet and Muvizu isn't being blocked by a firewall we will need to investigate this further.

Thanks for trying Muvizu,
-Jim
