Hi Admin,

Very new user only a week into the mission. Gradually 'getting the hang of it'.
This afternoon I downloaded the new update version. Removed all traces of old version first, including the Muvizu folders in programme files.

All unpacked without any problems, but then, splat, I'm now out of the game, sadly.

Muvizu wont load as video card does not support Alpha Blending with floating point render targets.
D3DFMT_A16B16G16R16F (Which is required to run this game, evidently.) Sounds interesting though.
Video Card is Ge-Force 6200.

Enjoyed my short stay, have fun.

Regards

John

Hey Dimension_five,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the new version!
Don't give up yet, you can still get the old version of Muvizu from the download page:

Hi Emily,
Thanks for the thought. I did save a recent copy of the application and have re-loaded it. So back in business. I am looking for a suitable graphics card to run the new version but have limited choice because I've only a PCI slot. So far have found a Nvidia Geforce 8400GS 512Mb that might be suitable. I've asked your Technical department to have a look at the spec. Really don't know if a shader 4 is better than a shader 3!
Thanks for your interest.
Regards

Ah ok!

I'd help you if I could but I'm afraid that's not my area of expertise (don't ask what is...)
Glasgowjim, Luscan, MarcoD or Jamie are probably the best at answering these types of questions.

Cheers,

Em

The "8" series cards can run Muvizu (I had a 8600 on my laptop and an 8800 on my main PC) the 8400 is the entry-level model of the series so it might struggle a bit, but I think it should be usable as it has 512mb of memory.

And Shader 4 is not necessarily "better" but Shader 4 cards have Shader 3 support
