Posts: 66 		People are strapping multiple cameras together on poles and creating spectacular 360 degree video. Strikes me that this might be possible in Muvizu - has anyone tried playing with this?

This seems to be a bit more complicated. Probably, you would need a 5th and 6th camera for up and down filming ?

Otherwise, a static 360 degree panorama inside Muvizu is easily been done by simple camera rotation and importing the video into the Image Composite Editor:


and saving the picture (Western set):


This could either be used in interactive flash (look here) or java applications.

Alternatively, you could also export the video from Virtualdub as GIF animation:

Yep, but you need external software to create one still image.

Also, if you wanted to record your movie with 360* video, you could not mange it with the current version. If you did manage it, it would be very time consuming.

I think this would be a good idea with modern panoramic screens etc.

Posts: 1786 		You can rotate the camera 360 and generate the video as still images (muvizu has this abiility) and import the images into an editor to generate the image you like. Anyhow nope haven't done this its just quite possible using muvizu to genearate the images.

I guess i use external editors already so not a huge deal. I use corel video ultimate and it can create such scenes. Its 99 bucks american it has tons of capabilities its a really good deal.

Posts: 1786 		yeah get the ultimate one it has so many plugins and stuff it has image tracking now, 3d titles so much stuff for 99 bucks everytime I think I will change to adobe or hitfilm for the effects part I end up changing my mind and simply upgrading every year.

Posts: 763 		doesnt a 360 video camera shoot video from each direction at the same time. making a movie with muvizu with an inbuilt 360 camera would be pretty hard i imagine.
the gadget show made a short movie a few years ago using a 360 camera setup

to watch it properly you need a fancy projector and a dome to project onto.

Posts: 66 		I started this topic because I was intrigued by the 360 videos you can rotate with the mouse as they run . I also saw some displays by a local outfit called Igloo who are showing these on the inside of domes from four linked projectors, very impressive.
Some of the companies on the net are selling the multi cameras with rig and software. In Muvizu of course our cameras are free and it would easy to sync the recorded action within the scene. I was really just fishing to see if anyone knew an easy way to stitch those camera shots together and view the whole thing.

Posts: 1786 		yes i have done some panoramics in game engines where i built a dome and placed the video on that they are fun but on a 2D video they dont really look like much. I enjoy the websites with the panoramics on them as well where you move your mouse from side to side to rotate. In any event they way I did it because practically its hard to set up tons of cameras your pc will lag like mad. Is to rotate a single camera in a circle in both directions. It gives the same feeling really. Muvizu is limited to 4 cameras. There is a reason for that I think they had plants to add a few more, but the more cameras you add the harder your graphics card is going to work. Anyhow you can achieve this affect by paning a camera in a circle in the middle of your set and limiting depth of field it would look cool.

Unfortunately, flash is not allowed here !

In principle you're right, but without a proper program to join the videos or pictures together, it will be nearly impossible to generate an interactive 360 degree video.
Even a simple picture export won't do the job because the stitcher will encounter problems due to the repeating Muvizu logo on every single frame (that was my first trial). Except you pay for it, of course...

But you can do it the "gadget-way":
