Heres another (soon to be available) app (not PC) hmmn..

It has the creepy Moviestorm/iclone manikin look to the characters. Although as it is an app I'll probably give it a whirl.

Free version of Fusion editor/effects generator I actually like the look of Fusion! I can see a lot of green screening in my Muvizu future!

Can Muvizu fill the gap? Facial animation! Oh god, yes please. It's no secret that I've been hankering after that one for years..

Most stories that people make with Muvizu are conversational in nature as opposed to slapstick. With that in mind I'd love to see a much greater variety of conversational character actions which would include actions that people perform whilst talking too eg. Eating, using a mobile phone (both talking on and texting) etc. It's the most basic and glaringly obvious every day movements like these which are missing from the Muvizu catalogue. I can see how they may have resisted including them in the days before characters could hold objects but now I see no reason to hold back.
Ideally it would be great if we had more puppetry controls over the characters limbs and hands to allow us the opportunity to expand the available character actions with our own. I can see that how would use up a lot of development time at Muvizu hq but maybe in the long term it would save on the time involved creating and testing individual character actions one by one?

Whilst we're dreaming..

If they do decide to go for facial animation, I imagine that it will be based on morph targets in a similar way to what we saw with the heroes and villains characters (morphs which I personally felt could have been much more varied!) So with that a great opportunity is available to have much more customization options for the user to create more individual characters eg spacing the eyes, reshaping the head and other features of the face, resizing the mouth and moving it around the face.
Make the morph targets looser this time. Not just fractional differences like the hero guys.

These are a couple of things which I feel would make a huge difference to Muvizu.

Simplicity and speed are the biggest selling points to Muvizu in my eyes. I don't post videos of iclone to make Muvizu look bad in comparison with its lack of features, quite the opposite. There are a lot of things that could be a great addition from the iclone toolset but Muvizu has to stay focused on how to best make it easier to tell a story rather than make it shine and pretty

Although... Both would be nice

Can Muvizu fill the gap? Another video posted to spark discussion on where we would like to see improvements with Muvizu. iClone 6 Sneak Peek:

Some amazing things shown in the video above. What would you like to see in a Muvizu sneak peek video?

Not quite - the same spammers have put something up on the Assets page as well.

Wow I'm almost impressed.

Hahaha!

I was under the impression that the assets had to be sanctioned in the same way that the videos have to be.

So who was the numpty that gave it the green light then?!

Someone is going to have a sore arse tomorrow lol!

Digimania - I think you really need to appoint additional mods now.

What happened to muvizu chap? I thought he was the newly appointed mod to deal with crap like this?

How long does it take you? Kind words Pyrrho (apart from the drowning suggestion! Lol!)

On the topic of how long it takes to create videos - Sometimes a deadline (self imposed or otherwise) can help to focus production and force you to come up with solutions or workarounds to problems which otherwise you could spend months on just plodding through.

For the video below I had 4 days to produce from concept to completion.

The Bell that Never Rang:

The video has 13 different sets which I had to create along with the audio and an original poem etc etc

It was a tight squeeze but it was completed on schedule.

It's a bit ropey in areas but it did the job at the time.

How long does it take you? HayManMarc!

Remember that there are always shortcuts to be had eg using backdrops instead of building whole sets, only building partial sets etc

If you are only going to show the corner of a room then only build the corner. You don't have to create the whole compartment.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I posted here.

For a 5 minute (give or take a few minutes) joke or skit, including all sounds, titles, etc., how long does it take you (personally) to make a Muvizu movie, on average?

How long is a piece of string?

... It's really difficult to answer this one as there are so many factors at play eg. How many characters are involved, how many scene changes and therefore how many sets are required, Do you have to create custom textures etc etc..

I can only use my own vids as examples to give you some kind of answer - At one point I was creating more than one Muvizu video a week. I used to make short sketches the nature of most only required 2 or 3 characters and the same average number of sets. If you have the sets and characters ready to go then it should only take a couple of hours at most. When I was making the "On the News" videos which were a satirical look at the news of the day I would watch sky news in the morning and pick a few headlines then I would write a script figuring out what was the best and quickest way of producing it, record the audio, then I would set about making whatever sets, characters etc I needed and then it would be just a case of directing all of it together, outputting the video for edit and uploading to YouTube.

From watching the news to having the sketch online took on average between 3 and a half to 4hrs tops. It had to be that quick because it was topical.

Hope that helps

Cheers
