Nice one!!!, I am starting to like how the videos look with real life images mixed with cartoon characters, I think I will go on that line on my videos.

Thanks for the nice comments Tony. I think your work is incredible with using the studio, but it would be fun to see what you do with other techniques. Pat gave good reasons to "mix" up what we use. Once I get better at using sets and moving around in them and making adjustments, I hope to use more of those throughout the animations.

I love anime and the techniques they use. If I could make a still shot come to life that would be fun, and then to be able to create that washed out water color look to it would be fun, too. Maybe in the future. I like a lot of styles, from bight and bold colors to subtle. I would hate to get bogged down by just one style. However Warner Brothers was quite successful for a number of years doing basically the same style of cartoons.

Week 1 of Visual Effects for Guerrilla Filmmakers We have a big fire close to where I live and the smoke is making me ill, so I will get into this tomorrow. I watched the first video and posted, then started the second one last night. Maybe if I am awake super early I will do some work on the course. Right now I think I will watch some Anime and fall asleep reading subtitles.

Thanks for letting us know how long the first one took. I know I am going to really benefit from this course.

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) I was using the layer over layer effect, but I think I need to add more than just the announcer standing there. Maybe have them in some sort of office setting although small.

The most Ridiculous Road Trip Ever! I just watched this on YouTube about an hour ago. It was really fun. I left a comment there. You have a gift of putting your humor into your animations. I really hope to be able to do that one day, too. It reminded me of something you would see on a television sitcom. Nice work.

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) Thanks for the nice comment, Pat. I wanted the announcer to be in a split screen like you sometimes see on the news, but could not get that one figured out, but came upon the rain drop effect by accident when testing different methods out. I figured it was different so I would use it.
That was in Hit Film effects. You can adjust a lot of things in there and at first the shape was just black and when I got that effect to turn up after playing with the controls I was happy.
I have always wanted to name an airline from Wisconsin, Dairy Air. This is a close as I will ever get.

I wanted to make the whole airport in Muvizu but did not have enough time. I have quite a few props I had to scrap but was happy to find the tri-plane. I had to find a way to use it. I hope to use more key framing in the future and hope to get better with it. It might be a great way to zoom in on things.

I did finally get to watch all the other entries and they are so much fun and so different. I am glad I am not judging. I enjoyed them all. I would love to try popping a corn dog. The Hawaiian adventure was classic one, Tony. I enjoyed the ending. I saw a special once on Cliff Richard and he was a very successful composer of several hit songs. It was nice to see him in a cartoon. I am not sure how many in the US really know who he is. Pat, you have a lot of scenes in a short amount of time. I love the ending...so sneaky. The fire was expertly crafted, Speedking5, and could probably happen on a big camping trip. The look of shock on the characters was timed to perfection.

Birdies! How very fun! I would love to attempt some of this but am clueless with where to start. I think I share Pat's fate at the mind being only able to take so much to learn at one time. However, my things to learn list is growing really fast lately.

It is going to be great to have a lot to do once it is too cold and windy to go outside vs being too hot and windy.

The video must be 20 seconds or less. (Not including titles)The video must be made in Muvizu, but editing and compositing in external programs is allowed.

So far my animation is 19 seconds long plus a 3 second title. Is it okay to add in end credits? Since I used some images and sounds I would like to have them credited. I would like to have them in before submitting to YouTube.

Quadrupeds NEW with only ONE character ! Are they walking in place and the background is moving? I have no clue how you created it, but if you paint the white one yellow, and give it a monocle ears and a tail you can have a minion pet.

Second video, Minions styled characters.... That was really cute. I have never seen a minions movie either. Maybe one day I will get up the courage to watch. Just from what I seems, it might be too close to my reality. I enjoyed your video though and the characters you created.

20 Second Film Competition (Summer theme) Well so far it seems that most of my ideas are already entered. I am still going to enter because I have too many hours in it not to. This is what happens when you are slow. I hope no one thinks that I copied their idea since I knew what mine was based on from the start, but I have spent most of my time figuring out how to put it together. Currently I have one or two more scenes to configure, then add the sound tracks, and edit it down to 20 seconds that get the idea across. It is another great opportunity to learn new things. It is too bad I have had to scrap some of them.

I managed to get a smooth, well sort of smooth, well anyway, I finally figured out key framing for a camera only to end up cutting the footage since it did not transfer well in HitFilm. But I am one step closer to getting better at key framing, and that right there is one win on this contest for me. Yay.

I want you all to know I am not slacking, and as soon as I find out who the judges are, money will be in the paypal accounts....not a bribe just a mere token of appreciation.

Stand while holding cup. Thanks, Pat for making it sound so simple. I have difficulty masking objects. When I try on Hit Film, I usually lock up the program. On Gimp, I start selecting something and it either does not separate or I can not stop using the selection tool even when I try to use the Select None feature. It is all very frustrating.

I will continue to search help tutorials and videos and one day hopefully it will all work, or I will not use anything complicated.

In the SOURCE folder (of the arm you're using) there are TGA files - these are what colour the arm. There is a PSD file there too - this contains the UV map to help you to make your own TGA, to change the arm to your needs (using Photoshop or similar).

The phone in the picture is one I downloaded from Sketchup's 3D Warehouse - this topic (downloading and importing models using Sketchup) has many many pages already written about it.

To combine the hand and the phone, I used blender to join them, then exported that as an FBX file for import into Muvizu. I am going to do a set of hands for mobile phone use (it's on the Arm Yourself list) but I'm busy with other things right now. I'll make sure to do those next though, since it is a very commonly used pose these days.


Maybe one day I will understand all this. You use a PSD file? I am not sure what that is yet. You use a Sketchup version unless they are all called that, Blender, and a photo editing program like Photoshop and Gimp or another. Oh my gosh. I still can not figure out how to change the selections tools in Gimp without shutting it down and starting over. I feel doomed. Even YouTube cannot seem to simply my Gimp experience.

I think I will have to just rely on what others can make if I ever get that far.
