newbie question about camera recording Hi Ingie01,

Camera movement still under development, so you can't do dolly motions yet, but it should be possible in the new release at the end of the month.
At the moment all you can do is cut between static cameras.

Good luck and shappy animating!

graphics card Hi Marvin,

Yes it was the ati "x1300". Possibly that was a typo!

Cheers.

Problem with bulding sets and diferent angles Yeah - that was what I suggested on another post, a bird eye view is useful, as is positioning your cameras and using the cameras window to preview your set from four different angles.

Good luck and happy animating!

Building sets out of place at different angles Hi Francisco.

One thing you could do is use the cameras to help you see your set from many angles at once.
You create up to 4 cameras in Muvizu, so you could give yourself a bird's eye view, and position one camera at the rear, one camera in front, one to the left and one to the right of your set. This way you can see where you are moving an object in relation to all the camera views, and it should help you understand the perspective.

Hope that helps!

I thought I'd say hello Hi Hermit,

Welcome to Muvizu!

I'm chuffed that my video inspired you to make your own.
That's pretty impressive that you were able to get to use basics of the app without any tutorials.
You certainly don't need a Scottish accent to make one! (Although it may help )
I'm currently in the process of subtitling the tuts, apparently the accent isn't too easy to understand!

Good luck with your animation!

Distort ratio of blocks Hi Popnoodles,

Welcome to Muvziu!.
Unfortunately we can't distort the ratio of blocks at the moments.
We did some trials of non-uniform scaling, and there were a lot of issues with it, often resulting in the app crashing.
Our devs are working on a solution, but it's on the back burner at the moment, as it's a pretty complex problem with the Unreal Engine.
It's a great feature to have though, and it allows you to do much more with the original objects, so it is definitely something that we want to have in the future.

All the best making your animations and don't forget we have a competition running with some pretty nice prizes.
Check it out at http://raindance.tv/muvizu or at http://www.muvizu.com/SiteNews/Default.aspx?did=63.

Thanks for getting in touch,

Emily.

Audio Help Hi S7ani,

For your character to lipsync to your audio, it needs to be imported into Prepare > Dialogue.

You can only have one dialogue file, so for your characters to have a conversation, it all needs to be mixed into in one audio file.

It might help you to watch Tutorial 7 - Basic dialogue and music:

Hope that clears things up.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to get back in touch.

Good luck and happy animating!

Can you export AVI files or the like? Hi Gontour,

Welcome to Muvizu!

It is indeed possible to export .avi files, you can select from a range of resolution and codecs.

You can see how this is done in the later part of Tutorial 12 (part 6):

If you make something interesting, you could win some nice prizes by entering it in our competition with the Raindance Film Festival, read some more at

Common Problems Hi Billybass,

Welcome to Muvizu!

I think you posted the same question twice. Anyway, our minimum specs are:

  • 2.4GHz processor
  • Nvidia 7800 GTX or ATI 1300 graphics card
  • 2.3GB free drive space

I can't recommend anywhere to purchase a graphics card, but if you do a quick search for it, you will find lots of online outlets.

Hope that answers your question.

Hasta pronto!

how Annie-Mate wrote:
Ditto!!!!!

What an impossible site. Is it deliberately made difficult to use.

Annie-mate - sorry to hear that you're having difficulty with the site. Is there anything in particular you're struggling with?

The new version should be up at the month with lots of improvements.

Animated Gif's Yep, as toonarama says, you can add gifs, but they won't be animated.

Any texture area will accept videos in .avi format.

For full details of what can be uploaded, see this section in the FAQs:

What file types can be used in the Muvizu 3D app? Are there any size limits?

my first movie Hi Alan,

It's a sweet video!
It would be really good to see some of your own songs animated too.
If you want your link to go onto Muvizu, you have to be logged in, then click on your profile, go to assets, and select upload video.
It takes a while for the video to be transcoded by YouTube, and then it has to be approved for our site, but it'll show up in a short while.

If the video has already been uploaded, you may not be able to upload a duplicate. You'll need to delete the other video first.
Also, if the video has audio that is copyrighted, YouTube will automatically turn syndication off, so it cannot be embedded on other websites. Even if you change this setting manually, YouTube will change it back again. Tchuh!

Think that covers everything, good luck and happy animating!

Character won't sit! Hi,

Welcome to Muvizu!

The sitting/standing position is related to the initial state.

If you want your character to start in the sitting position, select the character, then go to Prepare>Animation. Click on the Initial state>Stand button and change the icon from standing to sitting.

If, however, you want your character to begin standing and then sit down later in your animation, you need to animate this. When you are ready for your character to sit, go to Direct>Animation, then hit the record button (it looks like a clapper board) then select the sit anitmation button.
It's on page 3.

If you are struggling with Muvizu, it's worth while to spend some time watching the tutorials.
This one deals with animation:

Hope that helps!
