Machinima Expo Submissions May 1st - August 31st Submission link
http://codedtransmission.com/Expo2013/index.php

Show everyone the wonderful work created by the Muvizu community!

This year the focus is more on the films and less on creating programming. Lots of great entries submitted already, but no Muvizu movies yet....will you be the first?

Please note the change of submission period, the deadline is a month earlier this year.

Machinima Expo Accepting Submissions July 1st I look forward to seeing all of your films. Remember to be kind the screening group, and if you finish early then get the film submitted as it helps to spread the workload.
As far as possible we watch everything as it comes in, then review at the end of the submission period.

Machinima Expo Accepting Submissions July 1st I'm afraid there is still a problem.
Just to reassure other folks, we would have contacted Ziggy by mail if this forum convo hadn't taken place.

Machinima Expo Accepting Submissions July 1st Thanks Ziggy, as i write this i can see the film and link in the review queue, but adding password on vimeo isn't showing the movie...if you can't see it loaded up yet that might be why.

This month we're going to mention the latest muvizu update. I've had a play around with it and I love the new characters but you guys are the experts so........

Which of the new features do you love the most?
If someone tried Muvizu some time ago what would you say to bring them back for another try?

Anything else you would like to add?

Machinima Expo Accepting Submissions July 1st Link for submitting films;

http://www.machinima-expo.com/~machexpo/index.php/submit-film2

As I'm posting this there are no...just checking..no films waiting in the viewing queue for the screeners!
We watch films as they are submitted and then review everything once again once submissions have ended.
So this is a great time to submit if you need a push!

We've had some amazing films already but none yet from Muvizu. It has been a delight each year to have the privilege of seeing the community here grow, and the quality of films submitted seems to jump up at every expo.

Some wonderful Muvizu films were screened last year at our festival and I have my fingers crossed we could have one in our jury line up this year, could it be your film?

If you would like to keep in touch there are several ways. Our Facebook group is regularly updated;

https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/24514466915/

Our blog caries the big updates http://www.machinima-expo.com/~machexpo/index.php/blog with a couple of posts a month (more as we get nearer to the festival)

and finally good ol' twitter;

https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/machinexpo

Twitter is a little quiet right now, but if follow us now you will get all our newsbites starting around August.

Machinima Expo 2011 Now Accepting Submissions The films which were announced are the jury nominated films, those are the films which were picked out to go forward and be selected for the grand prize.

The announcement for the screening reel is to follow.
The screening reel films are a hand picked selection from the best of the rest of the films which were submitted, and will be screened througout the festival.

Machinima Expo 2011 Now Accepting Submissions We are in the process of sorting through the finalists now.
We notify film makers individually first then announce on blog.
Think Ricky's 16th must have meant the start of the final sorting week, but I can see how that could be misinterpreted.
Almost there.

Machinima Expo 2011 Now Accepting Submissions The screening team have reviewed 32 movies so far, every year the quality of entries seems to improve and this year is no exception.
We've had one muvizu movie submitted so far and I'd like to see more!

Don't forget we don't just take story based movies, last year a documentary machinima made it into the jury selection list, and we're keen to promote experimental work.

This isn't just about winning prizes though, last year we live screened a whole bunch of movies which we considered the best off our entries, and our online festival screens live on the web.

If someone you know makes great Muvizu movies, and you'd like them to represent your community at the Expo then why not send them a message and our submission link..

Background & Skydome - Aspect Ratios. OO good bump, can we have a sticky for this?

Moviestorm - Let your ideas run freely I think the pricing structure is offputting for those packages. Yes you get some things free, but if you want to make anything the addons cost.
2010/11/30 12:25:54
Moviestorm - Let your ideas run freely I like the stylised animations in Muvizu, it is one of the reasons I like Voovees as well. I think it's hard to compare packages in any terms other than 'what fits my project, my pocket and my style?', and there are always some compromises to be made.
If you are making animated film you will spend a lot of time with your chosen package, so I think there's an emotional element to it, 'do I love what I'm doing?'. Another factor is working out what kind of support is available when things go wrong, whether from the community or from staff.
Of course, once you've learned a program in depth it can become harder to shift track and go back to 'square 1' with another tool, but it can be a valuable experience, learning that all machinima tools have their limitations.

Where are the error log files? Yes, it could be a hardware problem with my graphics card which caused the issue. Drivers all up to date. Thanks Berty.

Moviestorm - Let your ideas run freely I think it's a great idea to stay aware of what the wider machinima community are doing. All the various tools have their annoyances and benefits, and it is down to personal choice as to which suits you best.
Lots of creators use more than one program, and there are friendly and interesting members lurking in all forums
