Hello.

I'm a new muvizu lover. I've tried a lot of cartoon tool, but this is the best. Now I'm trying to apply my face layer to a muvizu custom character, according with its template. I would like to ask you :

1) how can I remove the fake lips ? Because as you see from the pics attached, they are out of sync with my real lips and I haven't found a way to sync both. I don't know how to resize my face so that it matches within the templates holes of the eyes/lips template.

2) which are the exact template boundaries within which I can paste my face ?

thanks.

these are the pics of my first experiment with muvizu :

To get rid of the lines all over the Muvizu person's body, delete the 'frame' layer.

I recommend asking chuckles about the lining up, etc.

I have saved the new character and then I closed muvizu. When I have restarted it,the lips are gone, but now above the nose can be seen the cutting of the mouth. How can I remove it ? And the left eye is crooked. Why ? When I take the screenshot with Snagit white dots appear.

Hi Marietto - let's start at the beginning, eh?

First off, the UV map (image 3) is the 3D model shape for textures, so any texture you want to work in there HAS to conform to that shape - your eyes have to line up with the eyes, mouth with the mouth, nose with the nose, etc. So, straight away, what you're attempting wont work because your initial picture is taken slightly to one side, not face on, your mouth isnt open, eyes in the wrong place, etc.

Secondly, the UV map is distorted to wrap around the 3D image, so your face image would have to be distorted to match. It isn't.

And thirdly, if all you want is to map your face onto a character and not have him speak, use the Face Mask option instead which will do exactly what you want (in the character options within Muvizu itself).

Mapping textures onto characters is a bit hit and miss, and mapping your face onto a Muvizu character is not easy to pull off successfully. I'd recommend you take another picture of yourself, dead straight, face on, mouth open, and try again with that. As for the white spots, that's probably because you aren't exporting your finished mapped character as a transparent png file.

Hope that helps

You can use the scale image function in Gimp to line up your shot but like Ziggy said it has to be face on. I find the process gives me glandular fever on a big scale :-)

You still need to delete the frame layer for the final piece.

If you look at your Muvizu character, you can see that he has many lines on his body. To get rid of these lines, you have to delete the lines on gimp so that all you see is your face.

Do you understand?

You are at this point with two layers visible and (layers pallete open) (eye icon) untick the template icon and select the layer you have your work on, both are still in the list, but only one as the eye and that one is the blue active one. Go file "Save a Copy" name it as .png, you should not be able to see the lines from the template at all on your shot, layer is still switched on if you can.
A new Export file window pops up , make sure "Merge Visible layers" is ticked and click export. Job done.
The workflow above created this fine fellow

One of the most important things is a frontal shot, and dont forget to check the width of the eyes as this effects the width of your face in total. Swap the layers over to check. ;-)

The eyes of the original picture were not aligned. It was very hard to use a photo with misaligned eyes.

Muvizu could become like a drug for me. But before that it happens,I would know if it will be free forever. I don't want that one day I have to pay money to use Muvizu because I can't live without it anymore

Hey boys. Another screen. Do you like it ? I don't know how to resize the left angle of the lips. They are too much located on the left...thanks.
