Posts: 1 		I cant have multiple people talking in one dialogue take.every time i press the dialogue button it,it only shows the two buttons talk and shush.I watched the tutorial dozens of times but i never get more buttons. Plz Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posts: 1786 		hello they way you add dialogue for multipe people is to merge it into one audio file in muvizu. When I first started using muvizu I thought this would be a problem for me but it turned out to not be an issue its just diferent.

So take all your audio dialogue and make one soundfile of it and then assign that to each of the characters and then that is why you need the talk and shush so you can shut one up when the other one talks and visa versa.

Anyhow I hope that helps. Its a bit odd at first but once you try it a few times you realize it works just as well as "the other way" and forget about it

here is the tutorial the interface has changed there is no longer an "all shush" button but other then that its all the same.

Posts: 494 		The way I do it is to have one audio track for each character and assign them with the Prepare>Dialogue option. You don't have to worry about talk and shush then. Just set it to talk, click direct and sit back and watch the fun.

If all your characters' dialogue is in one sound file you can split them up into separate tracks for Muvizu using an audio editor like the excellent free Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

With music you can either record yourself singing the words and set the Lipsync track to silent in Muvizu or edit out the gaps between vocals with an audio editor and use that as a Lipsync track. Remember, they don't have to sound good because you won't hear them. They just have to make the lips move in the right places.
Let's say we have two characters singing to music. The audio tracks would be.....

Character 1 Lipsync: Silent.... Set char 1 to this track, talk and direct dialogue
Character 2 Lipsync: Silent.... Set char 2 to this track, talk and direct dialogue
Music Track: Normal volume.

Just make sure all the tracks are the same length and start at the same time to avoid mistakes.

Posts: 272 		I also do dialogue the same way as Woz does. For me this is much easier and I am lazy. Push record then talk and bam done lol. I would also suggest in the dialogue box to rename it to charecters name or whatever so as not to get confused as to what audio your using. I can see that happening. not that it ever umm happened to me. okay once but that was it. I would also suggest being totally organized if you do a long movie as I shoot in small scenes so name your dialogue recording in a way that will be easy to remember what scene or shot its used for if that makes any sense. Having alot of people with dialogue can be overwhelming if your not organized. Looking forward to seeing some videos soon!

The guys posted valid solutions for your problem, but I have to ask which version are you using?

You should have a drop-down option on the talk/shush window. That option is what allows you to sync the character's speech to a specific sound file.

If no one has then I will, as soon as I regain my voice from this infernal cold I'm trying to get rid of.

...Working on a silent movie just now due to lack of voice...grrr!

Posts: 1786 		I haven't seen a multiple track tutorial but since I found it hard to work with not to mention my project would require me to find a way to separate dialogue in a radio show I found the muvizu tutorial method okay.

In any event yes if your having trouble with the shush thing I guess separating it works. I dont have that option with the radio show. I would probably end up in a rubber room
