It's not muvizu and it's not finished but I really would appreciate your constructive criticism

So as I am a noob take my criticism with a grain of salt.

First, let me begin with You have my interested peaked.

You created a nice mood and the music added to the feel.

Good lighting especially with the glow from the ectoplasm.

I have to say that the voice and the character, mesh well together.

some nice camera angles and cuts

My thoughts on what can be better.

A couple of times the pause between action was too long. especially when he was holding up his hands and such around :50 seconds

At 1:11 hands and arms was in a very unnatural state. looked very odd.

I hope I have helped

I'd have to say that Mr Hamster is pretty much spot on about the pause where the doc is smiling at 50ish seconds and the arms a little later on. The run at the end needs some "footsteps on stone" sound effects but I assume that you were going to add that when finishing it off. Like Hamster says, please take the feedback with a grain of salt as the cartoon is already way better than anything I could do! The look of it reminds me of "Butt Ugly Martians" that my kids used to watch.

Your cartoon really does look superb. The voice acting/lighting/look of the cartoon are spot on. Very professional and slick.
Looking foward to seeing the finished article.

Thank you Mr Hamster and mr 00

That is exactly the sort of feedback I am after.

I'm lazy so i'm not very good at refining things too much so it is good to know the bits I really cn't get away with.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide comments.

Much appreciated.

No problem.

Mind you, I'm not sure about being Mr 00. Would that make me Mr Zero or Mr ooo! ?

Mark.

The models are good, the lighting's good, sound's good, the setups are okay, but the hands were all over the place (literally at some points - at 1.09 it looks like he's trying to take off). His index finger doesn't follow the line of his hand (which looks quite painful, actually), so I'm guessing that in whatever you're using (iclone?) hands are tricky?

Thank you Ziggy

I'd like to be able to blame a birth defect or an unfortunate lab accident but in reality I have probably been a bit slapdash (not for the first time). Each bone in the hand can be moved or rotated individually and I've probably tried to be a bit too clever for my own good and messed things up when using stock gestures would have sufficed.

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I am waiting to see what is next and yes my only comment was about animation really the rest seems very well set up to me nothing that screamed at me anyhow that I wanted to comment on. I liked the part where he used the syringe that was neat some of the finger stuff in other areas I probably would have loaded in the static hand gestures and maybe rotated the wrists (i avoid hands unless its a huge motion like that syringe stuff) and/or forarms. I always shy away from fingers cause they tend to stretch very easily and the only way to get it back is to reset it all lol. I try to animate hands by using their stock hand gestures and cutting out unwanted bits and meshing together the remaining bits and using the ease-in ease-out because I am a wimp when it comes to hands Big Grin

Now faces.... I over do faces often

Thank you to everyone for their help and advice. I'm now off to the dark side.

I hope to be back when we have a version of Muvizu which either allows motions and characters to be imported and/or edited or more character/motions are made available.

But for now; thank you to everyone for your support, assistance and friendship over the years.

Gotta do it Ziggy.

Each animation I do in Muvizu garners less enthusiasm than the last and I'm not surprised because they all end up looking the same.

I haven't got the expertise or will to spend time developing the sets and textures to give my animation some originality.

Someone will no doubt (Dreeko!) say that it's the story that counts and they'd be right but an original look and a chance to do something a bit different with the animations can cover up some of the shortcomings in that area.

Muvizu has been great for me but new features and an end to it's insularity are desperately needed.

Perhaps they are on the way, but I have given up trying to illicit information from The Glasgow Kremlin!

Nice. I was waiting for the snake to turn into one of those Muvizu blob guys. LOL

Yeah, iClone can be tricky sometimes with movements. A great start though.

I see it won't be long before you are an iClone master as well. No reason both apps can't be in the toolbox. Besides... the dark side ain't so bad.

Toonarama,

I guess everyone reaches the stage with Muvizu where the frustrations at having to overcome (or workaround) the simplest of tasks repeatedly becomes too tedious to be pleasurable.

Hopefully the main problem features will be addressed whenever the next version appears.

When that will be, no one knows.

Hope you enjoy the dark side. Let us know how you get on.

Exactly how I feel - and when a major (movement) bug is added to the mix this exacerbates the issue.

And this just adds to the frustration - no indication of what a future release will hold and no indication of a release date. It's not the best way of attracting new customers or holding onto existing ones.

It's bad enough having to support a football team which appears to be being led down a blind alley (I'll let you guess which one) without my favourite hobby going that way too!

I feel your pain toonarama and I agree with you, Dreeko and others thoughts about the situation. I still support the Muvizu team and have "high hopes" for the future of the software but it's getting increasingly difficult to keep waiting for something to happen.

I'm still using Muvizu to create animations but I too have been spending a bit of my animation time on the "dark side".

Hello there Mysto - great to hear from you again!
So we have a lot of the most experienced and loyal users feeling frustrated and perhaps disappointed. Not a great situation.
But the new render engine is now due out "summer 2014" according to the Digimania site so I can't see anything happening with Muvizu with that so close.

Would be great to be proved wrong.

I can't disagree or argue against any of the points here I'm afraid.

Muvizu previously used to be updated regularly which kept the users who had pushed it's boundaries hooked with the optimistic belief that "this time they will have put that feature in" or "corrected that problem" we used to gather in a crowd waiting for the white smoke to rise from the chimney signifying the release of a new version...

Unfortunately it looks like the regular faces in the crowds are becoming less and less as the wait turns to doubt as to whether the Muvizu smoke will ever rise again.

Muvizu HQ,
The users need actual info about what the plan for Muvizu is.
Give us a sign!

Throw the dog a bone for God's sake!

Unfortunately I have been saying this for awhile. The one major thorn in Muvizu's side is the fact it is heavily dependent on developers for new content. This is the main reason it will always be a hobbyist program. I love Muvizu but I think as time goes on you will see more and more people leave for the same reason as Toonarama. Until something changes, but it's like they came out of beta and bam full stop. Even on the forums it's been a dead stop.

Sure you can make a video in no time but in the end your in the same boat you was in before you found Muvizu. You have to make your own assets or have someone else make them for you and do more work a-rounds then you would in blender or maya. So by the time your done you could make a more thearitical film in another program with all the work one puts in for a few minutes of Muvizu.

Hopefully HQ will see these comments and let everyone know we are not forgotten.

Hate to see you go Toonarama and hopefully we will see you back soon. Stay in touch Toast
