Actually this future is closer then we think. I saw this video well a couple of years ago but it came up again yesterday in an article I was reading about advances in the field of gaming technology. This company has managed to take the concepts used in medical 3D imagery and marry it to the present day real time engine technology and some cloud technology to make some mind blowing creepily real graphics. (really cant tell the difference other then I know that someone has told me its computer generated)

There is a ton of debating going on around it (in the geeky circles I occupy ...) as to wether they are gonna hog all this tech to themselves or something and make it hard to compete. Always someone with a tinfoil hat enters discussions it seems where I am. Big Grin

People, you have to watch this vid - it's just insane what they can do with this 'atom' tech as opposed to 'old fashioned' polygons. The future's so bright... Cool

Very interesting Urbanlamb!

Here's hoping it can tie in with the unreal engine and therefore our beloved Muvizu!

Pretty cool stuff, not quite real, but you can see it's getting very close!

Now as we've already established, I know nothing about PC gaming and the tech behind it, but this didn't half remind of those guys that every couple of years say they have invented perpetual motion/cold fusion - all they need is just a bit more funding.......

Sorry, not to be irrelevant and disruptive...
(Not that anyone's still frequently monitoring this topic)
But this is the oldest un-locked topic.
It's from quite a while ago...
Everything in here is probably out of date. Doubt anyone remembers this anyway. (If you do, give a shoutout.)
I wouldn't go around de-facing this historic topic though. And, again, sorry for adding to this long-dead topic. Hope you don't get angry and go completely mad, throwing chairs around, cursing and screaming vile things.
Just was curious and interested.

Good luck, now go back to your life

Of course, now it's up on the first page of General Dis. because I posted on it.
Oh, sorry, not supposed to post on these old topics for no reason. Sorry.
Just interested. I'll go away now.

(Good video there, though.)
