What are the current lightweight Laptops that will run Muvizu Play+ ?

You can check the minimum specifications to run Muvizu here: http://www.muvizu.com/Wiki/wiki/52/recommended-computer-specifications

As long as the specs for any laptops you are looking at meet the ones on the Wiki, then you would just have to see about the weight from the folks selling the laptop. I'm sure most computing companies state the weight on the general overview of the laptop.

I've looked at these specs dozens of times, but they are of no use to me as they are too technical! On the Internet they give the specs of the laptops, but I've no idea whether they are better or worse than the required specs for Muvizu.
I need a list of a few actual models of Laptops, saying whether they will work with Muvizu. Ive spent hundreds of hours trying to work it our for myself to no avail! I realise you are probably not allowed to say just one or two, but a list would be great!

Posts: 122 		It's not really reasonable to expect a company to list specific models of laptops that may or may not be compatible. System requirements are one of the things that all software relies upon, so it might be more beneficial for you to understand what the system requirements are asking for, and understanding what they mean. It'd be much better for you in the longrun if you can come to grips with that.

Posts: 1786 		When people ask for input on what type of pc usually most of us are very quiet. There is a reason for this we dont want people to get angry if they purchase something on our recommendations and they dont like it. Myself I tell everyone to stay away from laptops when working with applications like muvizu because its actually pretty hard on them unless its something built for this purpose a custom laptop. Basically anything on the market that is actually new will run muvizu you will have to worry about the graphics card mostly and for this issue you will have to ask the people in the store.

How well it runs muvizu depends on what is inside the machine and since there are two million different possible combinations and permutations its very hard for most of us. Personally since I am cheap and want a lot of power still I avoid laptops like the plague unless its for wordprocessing or something because I would never buy a laptop off the shelf and expect it to run muvizu for any length of time and to my satisfaction because I know that I am pushing it to hard and its likely only going to last me a few months.

Anyhow for what its worth print out the information on the wiki and go into a store with it and talk to the techie there he will show you which laptop it will work on. If you were looking for a pc I would say any pc built for gaming is your best bet but there will be differences in performance based on what is inside the pc.

unreal engine prefers certain things - in the graphics area its nvidia graphics cards aside from that not much else to say really

Personally, I use a laptop for pretty much all of my animation and it works just as well as my desktop. I've been using it for well over a year with Muvizu and other 3d animation programs and its performing great. The main reason I use a laptop is because I'm always on the road and can't lug around a desktop system everywhere I go.

I guess what it really boils down to is your personal preferences and how much you have to spend.

Posts: 1988 		Fastest i5 you can afford, 2Gb or more RAM, Windows 7 - that's a given for a laptop to run Muvizu (Windows 8 sucks, avoid). Video card? Who knows - so many dumb names that mean nothing to anyone. I would imagine, Chuckles, that this is the bit that is stumping you - making sure it's fast enough since Muvizu needs a fast video card. When you're looking at the spec for a laptop, try using this site to gauge the speed of the card :

It gives you a graphical representation (a coloured bar) to show how fast every video card is - it is a very quick way of weeding out the lame ones, and identifying the good ones. You just search for the card you're looking at, and it'll show you where it is in the pecking order. It does other hardware too, it's a very handy site for getting the bigger picture. Posts: 51 		An extremely detailed and LONG list of your system's information can be found in Muvizu itself, at least in Muvizu:Play+ and I guess other versions as well. Click the ? mark in the upper right of the Muvizu screen, click About, click System Info and be sure to click the System tab.
This is just a tip for anyone who wants to find detailed info about their existing hardware to help with comparisome shopping.

Posts: 1988 		If it was me, I'd go for the first one - the specs are all the same for both sets of hardware, so no advantage there, but you do get an actual Windows disk to let you reinstall it if it all goes pear-shaped (and not just one of those stupid hidden partition systems). And 2kg is pretty good for a higher spec laptop. Beyond that it's just aesthetics, really

Posts: 555 		Yup cooling is important with Muvizu...I can run 3ds max, maya, gimp & mudbox all at the same time on my laptop with no discernible reduction in power or performance. Muvizu has to be run all on its own some otherwise the whole thing overheats and it's shutdown time!
