You'll have to import a car to put your dude into, then use the Action from Scared > Strong > Sick.

Then, Edit the character properties and apply the Effects > Mouth > Vomit effect. You'll have to animate the Intensity slider unless you want a fountain of spew all the time

Import a car sounds serious. Are you talking about from a third party source or within Muvizu? Sounds like the vomit isn't so bad. It's the inside the car that appears to be more difficult.

Yep, that's the difficult part. You could have a transparent backdrop if you're doing a short scene, but longer scenes might require a 3D model. There are some tips here: http://www.muvizu.com/forum/topic5405-tips--tricks.aspx
You'll probably want to use the ziggymesh exporter since it has little collision. The rest of the information is listed on that thread.

questions about how to put characters inside a car and/or make it look like its moving are common enough that somebody clever might want to create and upload a set to the store that is pre-loaded with all the key elements. Its one of those boilerplate scenes that everybody wants to build eventually. All the power users would want to build there own, naturally... but the vast majority of Muvizu users who don't want to work at the nuts and bolts level and who just want to portray their ideas quickly would use the H3LL out of it and thank you forever!

Dreeko used to have a tutorial on this, but he took a lot of them down since Muvizu changed quite a lot and he was getting bombarded with questions. I might put something together if I have time, but I imagine there are much more capable people here for such a task.

Just a couple of days ago I figured out the easiest way to put people in a car for a scene I am developing. Use a backdrop with the image of the back seat of a car. I did a google search for a car backseat.
When I found a good picture (in images), I downloaded the picture and went into GIMP 2 (free) or Photoshop, and free hand selected each of the windows of the car and filled them in with bright green. I saved the picture as a png file and then used that texture for the backdrop.
I put my two characters in, initial pose as sitting. I adjusted their size to fit in the seat properly. I then set up the camera to view only the backdrop with my characters sitting right in front of the backdrop. I then had them do what they needed to do and rendered the scene.
I then looked for video footage on youtube of "driving rear". There are a few of them that indicate you are free to use them in your footage.
I then brought up my video editor (I use Vegas) put the Muvizu footage on the first video track and the driving footage on the second video track. I then used the special effects of chromakeying, on track one, selecting the same green color using the eye dropper tool. Anything of that color will be transparent to the track below it. I then adjusted the upper end of the chromakey slider to come down a bit so that the lower track only showed through the windows of the car. Not doing this will cause the lower track to be seen as a ghost image throughout the upper track scene
The end result is a believable shot of two people in the back of the car. The video is a test shot to determine the limit of actions that can be done without the character partially disappearing into the seat. You will see some actions where this happens. This was very easily done and you don't have to load in a model.

Okay, in order to help with this (very commonly asked question) I've made a short tutorial video on how to animate characters inside cars. It doesn't cover actually importing the car, that's a different (and far more complicated) issue, just how to physically film it.

MarkWaldo,
that's a great solution! I like that! Thanks for posting!

Ziggy,
your approach is great too in a completely different way! Your method of making the car appear to move past the camera is particularly brilliant! I would never have thought of that in a million years!

And what really impresses me is that both of you figured these solutions out without being shown by somebody else! That is the very essence of creative thinking!

That's part of the fun of Muvizu. If it doesn't seem to do what you want then just figure out a way to do it anyway.

well, the fact that you're saying the quote above indicates that you're one of those rare people too!

It has been my experience in life that some people can't do anything even when you tell them how...
the vast majority can duplicate what they've been taught...
and a handful of people have the curiosity and intellect to discover new ways to do things on their own!

That's brilliant Ziggy! I'd completely overlooked the concept of moving the camera and road at the same speed.
You know, you could always keyframe it though

I could keyframe it... if I was using v1.6, but we all know how that one goes Big Grin

Ziggy - am I missing something but why are you moving the background at all ? In your compositor just use a static shot of the background (a single TGA image) and have your car on the layer in front moving past ?

If you need a shadow for the car just render out "separate shadows" on the background layer and apply that under the car layer.

Nothing worse than having to slag off your own post There are other ways you could do all this of course, but this is a beginners version, so I wanted to avoid anything that would require a lot of explanations.

I apologize. I am new to this. I got the information I needed. It was very helpful in allowing me to finish my project. In the future I will think twice about posting because I don't want to upset anybody. Thank you all.
